VSI DECset Version 13.0-3 for OpenVMS X86_64, IA64, and Alpha Systems VSI Language-Sensitive Editor (LSE) Version 5.3-3 for OpenVMS X86_64, IA64 and Alpha Systems VSI LSE V5.3-2 was not released. VSI LSE V5.3-3 for IA64 and Alpha systems has no code changes from version V5.3-1 of VSI LSE. What did change is the mechanism by which LSE is built; most of the DECset products now follow a common build and packaging procedure. LSE V5.3-3 is the first release for the X86_64 architecture. Unfortunately, there is still an annoying bug specific to X86_64 that has proven to be quite difficult to fix. We are not aware of any other problems with this release; members of VMS Engineering have been using it for several months. We are working on tracking down this bug. Under certain conditions, the command SHOW LANGUAGE issued from the LSE> prompt will result in an unpleasant access violation. Other than the above X86_64-specific issue, this version is functionally equivalent to HP's LSE V5.2 with the following change: The LSE DECwindows interface now works as expected on IA64 systems. It did not work in the prior two releases of HP DECset on IA64. LSE on OpenVMS Alpha did not have this problem. All versions of VSI LSE check for a license PAK from VMS Software, Inc.
